Which is better the 360, PS3, DS, PSP, PS2, XBOX, GB, or any other console you own or have played?
Argue but on terms of TECH, GAMES, GRAPHICS and not just say "oh ________ is better just because"

Alright, lets be upfront, right now the PS3 isn't even considered. It's not even out on shelves. When it comes out, we can add it in to the arguement.
Personally, I say the PS2. Simply because Sony, from my personal playing experience, has a better set of game deals for the PS and PS2 than Nintendo or Microsoft have.
The Xbox is a waste of time Halo is it's star game, and I just think it's unworthy in comparison to the SOCOM series or Battlefield 2. And it's Microsoft, how can you not hate them?
Nintendo, the only thing it's good for is Zelda. It's been that way for ages. They just don't get good game deals and don't keep up in technology or graphics.
In terms of graphics, I think a lot of PS2 games are the best. I haven't played the 360, but the Xbox isn't really superior in graphics. If the 360 is, then I'm sure the PS3 will own it when it comes out. Then again I'm kind of old-school about graphics. I firmly believe that graphics are not what makes the game, the story and gameplay are. Now true, for some games having the 3d environment is nice (Especialy ones like the DMC series, or God of War.), but some classic RPGs such as the older Final Fantasies (2 on the older platforms, 4 in the PS remake to be specific) are just better. The story is better, the character are better, the gameplay is just as good. The graphics of later games such as we see in 7-11 don't make them superior in any way shape or form.
Technology...Wow the Xbox won this one. The integrated HD instead of having to buy it is nice. No memory cards, already has the modem plugs and stuff in, so no buying network adapters and stuff. Although all this is expected to be with the PS3 I believe, so it'll redeem all the shortcomings of the PS2.
Sony also has the backward compatablity. AKA the PS1 games play on the PS2. As far as I know the PS3 is expected to continue this, which is nice.
Hand held devices...Nintendo gets this just because they were the first to do it. The gameboy is just oldschool classic goodness. The first of it's kind, so props to Nintendo for introducing portable gaming.
All in all, I'd say Sony's Playstation line is the best gaming system out there.

Nintendo has achieved a fall from grace in the console market, but it's okay, because it didn't have competetion for a while in the handheld. Then Sony thought it'd be cool to try that out.
I also think it's odd that with the PS2, Sony patented the DVD. From what I heard, the major push to DVD was Sony's endorsement. However, with this new console war, it should be fun to find the winner in this game.
The Xbox 360 messed up its backward compatability. For each regular Xbox game you put into the 360, it has to download something from Microsoft to play it. But its fans don't care, because the console was made for online multiplayer. So was its predecessor. That was the hook for the Xbox. So it is for the 360.
I know nothing about Nintendo's up-and-coming console. Thus, I don't comment.
What I will say about the PS3 is that it had to steal from Microsoft. The whole 'media center' thing would have left Sony in the dust if they hadn't caught on. Here's the thing. I don't want my console to have all my songs on it. That's what Apple's monopolizing. And until I can fit emulators and ROMs on my console, I won't use the hard drive as anything but an oversized memory card. Then, the next logical step is to shrink the technology down to fit in my pocket. Console-on-the-go plus media center plus entertainment center. That's what I'm saving my money for.
Until then, my loyalty's with Sony, partially because all my at-school friends have an Xbox.

probably shouldnt comment on this because i have never played the XBOx for any length of time but i would never turn away from Sony, everything i own is sony and if you know what to look for Sony can be your best friend in the elctronics world. So PS2 and Fingers crossed PS3 in the future.

BW, that oversized memory card is going to fill up much faster than you think I believe. Just like the PS2 memory cards. They were like 8mb and I'm like "Wow that's gonna hold a ton of games!" Now I realize it holds about as many ps2 games as my like 60kb PS1 memory card did. I'm sure the new age of games will require more space on the HD.
As for the media center thing, that's not stealing from Microsoft. That trend has been slowly coming in bit by bit. First it was CDs, then DVDs, and now they're just adding more to it. Sony had the PS playing CDs before Xbox was even conceived. So they didn't steal from Microsoft, they just didn't do it all in one shot like Microsoft did. But you have to do it in the new genre of consoles to keep up. Otherwise everyone goes "hey this has that feature that the other one doesn't, buy it!"
As of right now, the PS3 isn't looking like it's going to be worth the buy. $600 for the console, and games expexted to be over 60 but less than 100 dollars? That's -way- too much. The 360 is supporting technology that is on par with the PS3's said tech and it came out at like 400 bucks? or less? Also their games are cheaper than 60 bucks as I recall. That's way over priced. Wayyyyy over priced. I like my PS and PS2, but I'm not paying that. It's insane. I mean, the only thing Sony has going for it with this crap on the ps3 is their exclusive games. Sony has got better system-exclusive games, but they're slowly losing that war to Microsoft as well. Microsoft is getting good games that can par the PS games, and before long, designers such as SquareEnix are probably going to leave them due to the fact that they are over pricing everything and not going to make sells. No sells, no game deals. The game designers are going to go where they make money. And I don't blame them.
Nintendo is is still on the recovery race, and the Wii has so many jokes being made that it was being shot down before it ever existed. Also, again I think Nintendo is only worth the time for the Zelda games. I'm not buying a whole sytem for a Zelda game.
As for the whole online thing, Sony still wins. Why? Because you can play a lot of their games online for free. You have to pay for Xbox online. That's retarded! You already pay for a console and game, why should you have to pay to play your game?! I can go buy the same game on PC, hook up a controller via USB and play on my already existing internet connection for free. I should be able to do the same thing on the Xbox! The only games you had to pay for on PS2 were the ones that had their own servers. If you used the ones Sony provided, then it was free. Most games that I know of were free --- In fact, FF11 is the only one I can name that isn't.
With the PS3, I believe it's supposed to have the built in modem thing, so it's not like you'll have to buy a network adapter as with the PS2. So Microsoft won't be winning that anymore.
I'm still a skeptic about the 360. Like you said, you have to DL everything for backward compatability. That sucks. Also, the Xbox wasn't that great. I played one, and I'll take my PS any day (PLUS THE CONTROLLERS SUCKED!! God I hated them! I <3 my simple PS controller.)
However, at the rate this is going, in the new genre console war, I'm highly leaning toward the 360 unless Sony gets it's head out of it's butt and redeems itself.

I'm a Microsoft person. PERIOD. i can complain about the ps3 all day but FACTS 1) sony is stealing from not only microsoft but nintendo too. they are stealing the 360's achievement points. they stole the motion sensing from nintendos new controller. they are stealing the guide button that was in all centers of the 360 controllers. they are even stealing the four boxes things that tell you what player you are from nintendo! ooh and coming with two packages was the 360 thing 2) sony is cheating people of money. they say both packs work well IGN came out saying that the lower priced package can't even play games so people are forced to get the pricier one or upgrade to it 3) sony may have free online play but microsoft perfected it. they're system is easy to use, you can do almost anything with it, AND it doesn't have the bugs that litter the ps2s. sure you have to load everytime you want to play an old game. but hey, i played halo and halo 2 all the time and i get one loading sscreen once every month and for about 5 seconds. annd, microsoft lets you dl games that you haven't played in ages all over again! old arcade games are back. trailers can be dl for free so you see more games that are coming out. demos are free for use and .... hahahaha i can connect my ipod to the 360 and it plays my songs and updates my ipod with the latest updates. online is what i love abuot the 360 and i just dont see ps3 coming out with something better 4) sony always poked at microsoft having a big console. pictures came out and the ps3 is even bigger then the 360. 5) games....i personally wont make an arguement about this cuz people have different tastes. but i personally lkie the games on the xbox more then on the ps2. 6)i love it when there is something new. and the 360 came out with a lot of new things that i absolutely adored. and just teh same, i'm loving the wii....well everything cept the name. wii is awesome. revolutionizing gaming. everything is brand new and so creative. the only thing i can see that may be wrong is there would be a lack of support from 3rd party designers like the gamecube. no one really wants to try to design something on the wii since its so... new and.... well. yeah... the games they do have on the lineup looks awesome though and i'm def. going to get it 7) i dont like the ps2 just becuz a lot of people like it....simple aint it? hahahah . People want to be japanese. its a fact *Shrugs* and a lot of people say they love the ps2 but they cant say anything abuot why or whats so good about it. sure sony has been in the market longer then microsoft but i think that the 360 could pose a real threat. microsoft did a LOT of things new and all i see is ps3 either have bad ideas or copying other people. dont like it. 8) THE PRICE!! its WAY too expensive and i am NOT paying that money to get it. especially since the games are going to cost a lot more too! making it that expensive is going to hurt its sales cuz you can get wii and the 360 for the same price as ONE ps3. i noe that with blue ray it has to be that cost...but..... i just dont want to pay it. and i'm pretty sure a lot of other people dont want to pay it too okay lets stop..... i typed a lot....... hhehe any arguements? i'm very passionate about defending the 360 and wii

Oh in the new age consoles, I agree that the 360 wins.
However, as for them copying, So what. People have done it to them before. It happens. It's just that big fans are whining about it to find an excuse to hate Sony. In industries, theft of ideas in some shape or form happens. Deal with it.
Also, I don't give a crap about all my media being able to be in one station. I find that annoying actually because then I can only use one media resource at a time. Where if I have separate ones, I can use them all at the same time. So screw your all in one packages.
Also, I think if I buy a console, a game, and my internet access, I've payed to play my game. I should NOT have to pay a monthly fee as well. That's just money mongering. And you were blaming Sony for doing that....
PS3 is Sony commiting industrial suicide though. It will flop if it's as bad as I expect.
However in the last genearetion of consoles, the PS2 rocked the compotion. Period.

hahha ps2 rocked in everything else
i preferred the xbox graphics and games though. the only game i liked in ps2 was katamari.....
*sigh* yes everyone steals but its nice when you see people come up with all new things too
hmm not only other fanboys are saying so. a playstation fansite took a poll for which next gen console is looking better then the others. wii and 360 almost broke even and the ps3 has only a few percent. and this was from a playstation fansite......

Exactly.... the ps3 better fix it's act or it's game over for Sony. Industrial Suicide.
The games, really depends I guess. I like a lot of PS2 games, but I saw a lot of Xbox games I'd have liked to play....also there were a lot of games that were on both systems, which is nice.
I never played Katamari but I hear it's great.
It's nice to see new things, but like I said, I'm not a fan of the all-in-one media center thing. Because I can only use one resource at a time that way.

katamari is the king of all games japanese it influences the way you think of life and the world and the universe *worships katamari* my friend tried to get me into gamecube...but there just wasn't enough games for it...and even the ones they have out i didn't like. i WANT to try super smash bros on the gamecube..but for some reason all my friends peg me as a nintendo hater and never asked me to play it... that actually makes me sad.........hmm.... i need to get a gamecube what kind of media do you like seperated? i dunno, i dont have much of any thing on my 360. i have a lot of demos, trailers and arcade games though. and those aren't things i need to do one at a time along w/ plugging my ipod in and playing something

I like my computer appilcations, gaming applications, and music separate >.< so I can talk online, play my games, and listen to music all at the same time. Granted, my computer can double for music, so those can go in one but blah.
So I don't want to have to depend on my gaming application to download my MP3 player updates or to play my music, because then I can't listen to music and game at the same time. And if I use it as a computer, I can't focus on gameplay then....
So I think that for me and my brain's style, its best they stay separate.

hahahaha they have an OPTION for you to put it together! not many people have EVERYTHING on it
i just use it to dl my ipod update cuz it slows my computer...
people usually only use one aspect of the 360... the gaming, the computer, or the music... but it just has everything so its convienent for its users

Eh, if I weren't using one, I'd use it for the other. so if it were late and I wasn't gaming, I might use it for a CD player, lol.
