Are there alternate dimensions and/or realities that work parallel to ours? IDeas?

Dimensions? Sure. We ive in the third deminsion, but there are many dimensions. The first is a straight line, the second is like a box, and the third add depth. I used to know what the 4th and 5th were, but I've slept since then.
Parallel universes? No. Because simply put, we believe in a -uni- verse, as in one verse. The idea of multiple universes, or a multiverse is negated by itself in that. Also, since we believe in one universe, that means everything in existance is included in it. So for there to be different universes, they would have to exist on different planes of time, I.E. the past and the future. However, the past has happened and can't be altered, so that would leave only the future. And since the future is shaped by the actions of the present, there would be infinately many universes that could result based on every tiny action of every person in the world. However, based on which actions occur, only one of the possibilities develops....
Meh It's long and a pain in the backside to go through, but I wrote it all out one day. I believe it's somewhere in my Xanga. At least, It should be.

I bet you hate it when I come on one of your threads Ty, for some reason, I always seem to be disagreeing with something you've said.
My understanding is that we live in a four dimensional universe (I agree with you here. Universe means one version, uni-one, verse-version). The four dimensions, known as Spacial Dimensions, are left-right, up-down, backwards-forwards and time. The latest theory in Physics, Superstrings or String Theory, states that there are between nine and eleven spacial dimensions. Unfortunately, the other dimensions are all smaller than the Planck Length, which is the smallest measurement we can accurately measure with our current level of technology. For this reason, String Theory is likely to stay just that, a theory.

I'm not really seeing what you're disagreeing with. But okay. And if I remember right, the 4th deminsion had to do with time-space, but I don't remember. 9-11, so yeah I knew it was up there somewhere. I used to know the first 5, but now i just know the first 3, lol!
Seffy I don't care if you disagree with me or not =P It makes my day fun to have someone else intelligent to talk to about topics that if I tried to talk to my school friends about they'd look at me like "what did you say in english?"
As for theories, its like religion. There are a bunch of them and you just have to pick which ones you choose to believe in.
Although the one you mentioned about Spacial Demensions seems familiar too...I think I've heard parts of it and basic descriptions, but that's about it.
