Mysterious spacecraft from an Alien world or natural phenomena playing tricks on Human imaginations. The number of UFO sightings grow with each passing year. Can all these people just be seeing things that aren't there or is there something more alien going on?
Discuss.

natural lighting effects, human imagination, possibly stimulants to the person (internal or external) causing them to see things that aren't there.
Or they're just frickin crazy and think the airplane or helicopter they saw was a UFO. lol.
That's what I think. Do I believe in Alien life? Sure, why not. But not them having UFOs and landing our planet and such.

I absolutely think the goverments around the world are involved in a coverup conspiracy as far as their research into aliens is concerned, but I'm not so big on the flying saucers ... I just don't find it likely that we've been visited by alien life so frequently as people think they see them. The majority of "proof" that I've seen leads me to think it's a lot of smoke and mirrors as far as proof goes. It's all in the eye of the beholder and if you're a true believer, you'll make it fit what you think it is. But as far as I'm concerned, it's all frisbees and airplanes.

I think as technology advances, we see more and more 'sightings.' I think when we see something in the sky that doesn't look exactly as we expect it to (i.e. isn't the exact shape of an airplane, or doesn't sound like a helicopter), then we wonder what it could be. There's nothing wrong with that. I think that man is curious by nature. Some people, however, truly let their imaginations get the best of them.
How many of us (and oh, yes, I'm included in this) have watched a scary movie late at night, then laid in bed long after, wondering what this sound or that was? We imagine all kinds of fantastic things going on that simply aren't. I think the people who 'see' (and really believe they see, not just the ones who want publicity) have done just that. Maybe they're sitting there, looking at the stars, thinking about the possiblity of other life, when they see something that's just not quite an airplane, and they imagine all sorts of odd and extreme things.
Now, I do think that there is other life out there. The universe is simply too big to deny the possibility. I think it is the arrogance of man that has let us believe that Earth is the only life-giving planet. I don't have a definite idea of whether or not some other life-form has visited Earth, but I highly doubt that they come as often as some would have us believe.
I also agree with Wile that some governments are actively seeking other life, and then just simply covering up their activity. I don't think that our involvement in space is just 'looking around' either.
