C'mon. You know you watch 'em in the afternoon when you're "home sick." Talk about your favorite/least favorite daytime tv shows here.

I used to watch General Hospital. I was hooked on it pretty good too, until I missed about a week of it and didn't care to go back to watching it.
When I was much younger I watched Days of Our Lives. Man that was forever ago.
Don't watch them anymore, but I'll be honest, I still see whats up with GH every now and then. I usually yell at the TV, say WTF and then turn it off...lol.

All My Children was my default soap. Then for some reason soaps started getting big again... You know... after Loving changed to Port Charles? And Passions was the new big soap? OMG, senior lounge last period... Passions. You can't miss it. lol... Yes, I was forced to watch Passions every day during study period. Not that I minded too much. The theme is really catchy. lol...

Apart from severly aggravating the living daylights out of me, what is the point in Soaps? I mean, they're supposed to be about real life, yeah? So why not go sit in the garden and spy on a neighbour then? It's the same thing. As you've probably guessed, I absolutely despise Soaps with a vengance. Those people who thought up soaps and reality tv shows should be put up against a wall and shot, and I would gladly pull the trigger myself. Detest them.

I think its the fact that people can bask in knowing someone out there has it worse off then them?

That's just it though. People watch the TV for escapism, a chance to leave all the troubles and problems of every day life behind for a while. So where is the sense in watching a programme that reminds you of all the problems and troubles you have in every day life? It's just non-sensical to me. If I've just lost my job, can't pay the mortgage and just found out my son's on drugs and my daughter's pregnant, I don't want to switch on the TV and watch some guy lose his job, struggle to pay his mortgage, discover his son high as a kite and find his daughter's pregnancy test. It defies all logic Ok, rant over ;D

It doesn't defy logic. It would go something like this: It's not my problems of everyday life. It's someone elses. Someone has it worse off then me. My life isn't so bad. Yay.

have any of you tried to watch tv novellas in spanish? Its amazing because you see all of those movies where the girl gets sucked into them and understands everything even tho she doesn't know spanish... and your like Pshaw.. yah right! but ... its true. They are so dramatic it is literally impossible to NOT get some kinda drift of whats going on!
