Yay! I used to play clarinet and the bass clarinet. I like how versitile the sound of a clarinet can be.

Me too, only I didn't play bass clarinet. I only played the B flat clarinet, but I loved it. And I miss it. I sold it like a dummy.

Ah, that's sad. I still have mine (though it's really crappy and made of plastic), but I haven't played it in forever.

Mine was some kind of rare wood or something. It was a rather beautiful instrument, and i still can't believe I sold it lol. I could be teaching myself how to play more songs on it lol. I still remember how to put it together, clean it, and everything. Makes me miss it more, lol. I'm glad you still have yours. Hold onto it cuz you'll kick yourself 1000 times over for selling it.

I play the clarinet. When the clarinet choir forms, I play the Alto Clarinet, simply because I'm the only one that can tame the darned thing.

I play the clarinet, have for years and years. I've played just about every clarinet at some point in time or another, including the contra-alto, bass, and alto. I went to state on the alto clarinet.
The alto, is an E flat instrument, that's somewhere between the B flat, soprano, and the bass. It often gets mistaken for some sort of saxophone, but it really just looks a lot like a small bass clarinet. It has a solid black base (body), silver keys, a silver neck, and a silver, curved bell. The mouthpiece is just plastic like all the other.
I've played in all sorts of settings, from classical to jazz, and competed for several years.
